Ayurvedic Treatment for Nephritic Syndrome

We at Dr. Dassan’s Ayurveda focus on reducing the inflammation of glomeruli thereby preventing the leakage of RBCs through the blood vessels. Cooling and soothing herbs included in mutravirajniya category (herbs to restore natural urine colour and texture) are used to treat inflammation. Additionally, we focus on providing nourishment to the nephrons and regulating renal filtration with the help of ayurvedic medicines that have diuretic as well as nutritive properties. Once we counter the inflammation, there is gradual reduction in leakage of blood and protein which improves symptoms like swelling and weakness in the body.

Ayurvedic Pathogenesis

According to ayurveda, nephritic syndrome results from disturbance in the urinary channels which are the Mutra vaha srotas. Pitta aggravation is considered to be the main factor that causes glomerular inflammation and damage to the lining of the blood vessels which results in leakage of blood and ojas component (albumin) through the urine.

FAQs

+ Q1.What is Nephritic syndrome?
- Ans.The term "nephritic syndrome" refers to various indications and symptoms that appear as a result of kidney inflammation. The kidneys function less efficiently as a result of this inflammation. Additionally, the red blood cells and proteins from the bloodstream leak into the urine. Nephritic syndrome may be brought on by a variety of illnesses and can affect people of any age. Infections, immune system issues, and blood vessel inflammation are typical causes.
+ Q2.How is nephritic syndrome diagnosed?
- Ans.Nephritic Syndrome is normally diagnosed through a physical examination and urinalysis of the patient. If there are abnormalities in the urine, such as a dark hue or cloudiness, then there are chances of nephritic syndrome presence in the body. Some patients also experience less urine output and also the patient with nephritic syndrome might experience high blood pressure.
+ Q3.What organs are affected by nephritis syndrome?
- Ans.Nephritis, an inflammation of the kidneys, can affect the interstitial tissue that surrounds the glomeruli and tubules as well as the tubules and glomeruli themselves.
+ Q4.Can you recover from nephritis?
- Ans.Ayurveda is extremely effective in curing inflammatory conditions like nephritis. However, if nephritis is not managed, renal failure could result. Renal failure occurs when one or both kidneys stop functioning, whether temporarily or permanently.
+ Q5.What Ayurvedic remedies are used to treat nephritic syndrome?
- Ans.At Dr. Dassan's Ayurveda, our main goal is to lessen glomeruli inflammation to stop RBC leakage via the blood vessels. Inflammation is treated using herbs that are cooling and calming in nature. These herbs help restore natural urine color and texture. During treatment, specific dietary, exercise, and lifestyle recommendations are made. When inflammation is treated, protein and blood leaks gradually decrease, which reduces symptoms like swelling and weakness in the body.
+ Q6.How quickly can a patient heal?
- Ans.By adhering to the recommended medication, food, and lifestyle changes, one may begin noticing improvement 20–25 days after starting treatment. Recovery period is also influenced by the patient's immune system and digestive capacity.
+ Q7.What is the cost of the nephritic syndrome treatment?
- Ans.Our medicines i.e the full course of treatment could cost around Rs 3000 to 6000 per month that depends on the digestive power, appetite, and other associated conditions that the patient might be having since we believe in not just treating the disease but the body as a whole.
